Your Sneak Peek into Art in Portugal

Hot off the easel! This is Colares, a small, magical coastal region just outside Lisbon, tucked into the foothills of the Sintra mountains. Colares sits along one of Portugal’s most beautiful stretches of coastline. Here, the Atlantic isn’t polished or predictable—it’s expressive, constantly shifting in color and mood. It’s the kind of place where the air smells faintly of salt and eucalyptus and you feel suspended between worlds.

Check out the actual reference photo. The painting is a brighter interpretation of the photo. The colors were more brilliant in person and I tried to bring them out in with juicy oil paints.
